Contrary to the sounding name, it's not a ride on a cannonball - with its completely new tread design, the Minion DHR II is the ideal tire for aggressive gravity rides. With the side lugs of the legendary DHF, which have been slightly widened for even more cornering grip, it has super traction. The center lugs are beveled for better acceleration and braking. Thanks to the cut profile in the longitudinal direction, turning into high-speed corners is child's play.

Wide Trail Casing (WT)
This special carcass construction optimizes the tread layout and tire shape on today's wider rims. Traditional tyres are developed for narrow rims and have too angular a shape on wide rims, resulting in less than optimal performance.
WT tyres are optimized for an inner rim width of 35 mm, but work excellently on all rims with an inner dimension between 30 and 40 mm.

Tubeless Ready (TR)
Tubeless tyres have many advantages: You can ride with less air pressure. This gives you better traction and reduces rolling resistance. And where there is no inner tube, the risk of punctures is also reduced. MAXXIS TR tyres are better prepared for mounting with sealing milk than other "tubeless ready" tyres. The bead of our TR tyres is completely covered with a layer of rubber, just like a real UST tubeless tyre. This means that tubeless mounting is successful on all rims with standard dimensions right from the first inflation and with little liquid. Normal MAXXIS MTB tyres can also be mounted tubeless with sealant, just like tyres from other manufacturers, as the carcass fabric is very tight. However, only the new MAXXIS TR models are officially approved for tubeless mounting and guaranteed by MAXXIS. Tubeless mounting of other models is at your own risk.

Note: We strongly advise against the use of sealant containing ammonia. Ammonia has been proven to attack the casing and can weaken it by up to 30% after just a few months, depending on the amount used.

Dual Ply Casing
Two combined fabric layers are wrapped around bead cores. This creates an extremely stable and secure casing, which is particularly important for downhill riding. It is four-ply on the sidewalls and even six-ply on the treads.

3C Maxx Grip
The well-known 3C downhill compound, which many of the best downhillers have trusted for years, is now called 3C MaxxGrip. 3C MaxxGrip offers the ultimate grip and the best damping properties for unparalleled traction on downhills.
