Schwalbe Tacky Chan Gravity Pro 27.5 x 2.50 - ULTRA SOFT RADIAL TLR Tyre

In 2026, Schwalbe is radically revamping its MTB range; design, naming, technology and reducing the portfolio to the essentials were Schwalbe's motivation.
Thanks to the newly gained clarity in naming, greater clarity has been created. Schwalbe Line or Pro Line is the first question you will ask yourself. Which version do you need, do you need the race tire (Pro Line) or the more durable value-for-money model (Schwalbe Line).
The names for the tire constructions have also been renamed and are therefore easier to understand. Gravity, Trail, and Race are the new names.

Schwalbe worked closely with the professionals from the Commencal and Muc-Off racing team when developing its new high-performance tire. The Tacky Chan was created over two years of collaboration. With a completely new tread design, the Tacky Chan is the ideal companion for downhill and enduro - the perfect combination of stability and adaptability is crucial here. Reinforced shoulder knobs, extended braking edges and L-shaped knobs enable, among other things, higher speed at lower weight, greater braking traction and maximum grip, especially in corners. The open shoulder area provides direct feedback and improves self-cleaning. As usual, this MTB tire features features such as TLR, Snakeskin or excellent puncture protection. Together with the Albert, the Tacky Chan succeeds the Big Betty.

Ultra Soft
The compound with maximum damping is perfect for hardcore use in enduro, gravity and downhill. Thanks to the improved compound, you also have maximum and optimal grip in cold and wet conditions.

Gravity PRO
The carcass for the toughest use is the Gravity construction. Under the motto „Twice as much is twice as good!“, the double-layered 67EPI ply is able to handle the roughest terrain.

RADIAL
The carcass threads, which run diagonally across the tire at a 45° angle on conventional bicycle tyres, are arranged at a significantly more obtuse angle on radial tyres.  The technology developed in the Downhill World Cup turns the MTB world upside down. Primarily, this arrangement ensures that the carcass material overlaps more briefly and with less tension. This allows the tyre to deform more selectively and react much more flexibly and adaptably to uneven terrain without compromising safety. At the same air pressure, radial tires offer 30 percent more contact area than conventional tires. The result is more grip, more damping and more comfort.

NOTE
Tyres with a soft rubber compound offer more grip and roll more smoothly. However, soft tyres wear out faster and are more susceptible to wear.
